Dental cleaning and check ups
It?s important to have your teeth cleaned regularly to ensure that your mouth, teeth and gums are at their healthiest. Cleanings can help prevent against cavities, tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer and several other conditions.
We offer a basic cleaning, known as a prophylaxis. This involves the removal of plaque, calculus and stains from the teeth using a hand or ultrasonic instrument. We use this cleaning for patients that have no evidence of periodontal disease. After the cleaning, your dental hygienist will provide you with home-care instructions and a new brush and dental floss that can help you to maintain the benefits of the prophylaxis.
You may need a deep cleaning. If that is the case, your dentist and oral hygienist will talk with you about the benefits and ways that it fits your needs.
Crowns & Bridges
We can help you fill in the gaps
If you’re only a few missing or damaged teeth away from having a great smile, we’re here to help. In fact, the right crown or bridge can be just what the doctor ordered.
Most bridges and crowns are fixed prosthetic devices. This means that they are cemented onto your existing teeth or implants and can only be removed by a dentist.
Your dentist may recommend a crown to restore a fractured tooth, to replace a filling when there isn’t enough tooth remaining, to cover a dental implant or to cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth.
Bridges are used when you have one or more missing teeth. They cover the gap where teeth are missing and are cemented onto your natural teeth?or implants.
Healthier gums can mean a healthier you
Do your gums bleed when you brush? Are they sore, swollen or red? Are your teeth are very sensitive? Did you know that those conditions, as well as bad breath, can be signs of periodontal, or gum disease.
According to the ADA a majority Americans have some form of gum disease and don’t even know it.
Gum disease is an infection that can severely harm the gums and bone supporting your teeth. It can affect one tooth or many teeth. Like any infection, left untreated, gum disease can lead to serious and costly health issues.
Advanced stages of gum disease have been found to lead to tooth loss. Other complications can include:
- Heart attack
- Respiratory diseases
- Premature or underweight babies
Good dental hygiene, periodic check-ups and quality dental are the best ways to prevent serious gum disease from developing.
